Our Legacy

History

Roadrunner has a unique history going back three generations from father-in-law to son in law. Still family owned and operated today, we are deeply rooted in our legacy and commitment to service.

Dan Pangburn - Founder

Dan founded Roadrunner in the 1970’s as a way to provide for wife and four children after their move to Dallas, Texas. The name Roadrunner was born because Dan quite literally “Ran the Roads” selling FF&E items. Roadrunner continued to grow and Dan decided to take on another salesman, Mike Armstrong, his son-in-law.

Mike Armstrong - Former CEO

Mike Armstrong had a long career as a Pharmacist prior to beginning his tenure at Roadrunner. Despite the intense schooling he went through to obtain a Pharmacy license, Mike was not happy with his chosen profession. His father-in-law ran a successful Hospitality FF&E purchasing firm and he decided to take a leap of faith into sales. This proved to be a successful move for Mike, and when Dan decided to retire, Mike became the CEO of Roadrunner. The industry saw much change during Mike’s time as the CEO. He helped the business morph from a purchasing firm only to a design and purchasing firm. For over thirty years, Mike oversaw the business and was the top salesman. When it became time to search for a successor to Roadrunner, he brought on his son-in-law and daughter into the business to continue the family legacy.

Scott Loftin - Current CEO

Like Mike, Scott began his career in a completely separate profession. Scott obtained a degree in Aerospace Engineering and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for a Department of Defense contracting company. He felt a similar dissatisfaction with his job choice and in 2013, he decided to join his wife’s family business at Roadrunner. Scott worked as a salesman and trained with Mike to learn about the business. In 2021, Mike chose to only sell to a select few clients and step down as CEO of the company. Scott and his wife, Ashley, currently oversee the operations of Roadrunner as a third generation legacy to the company.

Ashley Loftin - Current CEO

Ashley grew up watching her father own his own successful FF&E Design and Purchasing firm and has many memories of traveling to hotels on sales calls with her father as a young girl. She spent many summer days and weekends running around the former office space playing hide and seek with her brothers and playing “office” just like her dad. After college, Ashley became a Middle School teacher but always felt like she had a home at Roadrunner. When her husband started his career with the company, Ashley helped out in several different capacities as the needs arose and discovered she loved contributing to her family’s legacy. When her father decided to step down as the CEO of Roadrunner, Ashley and her husband Scott, became the next generation of the Pangburn/Armstrong family to own Roadrunner.

Scott and Ashley will continue to grow and expand Roadrunner and feel honored to have two former CEO’s to guide them through the process. Roadrunner provides excellent turn-key design and purchasing services to hotels across the nation but will always be rooted in its long history with the industry.
